- Giza Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum Day Tour
The monuments of Giza and the treasures found inside them, in one day
Pickup from your Cairo hotel is scheduled for the morning (pickup from Heliopolis or 6th of October carries a small supplement), giving you the Giza Plateau before the midday heat sets in. Your Egyptologist guide leads you first to the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, then on foot to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple once used in Khafre's mummification rites.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour continues a short drive away to the Grand Egyptian Museum, opened beside the pyramid complex itself. Current access covers the Main Galleries, the Grand Hall, the Grand Staircase, the commercial area, and the exterior gardens, while the museum continues testing its full visitor experience ahead of a complete opening — still enough to spend a full afternoon among more than 100,000 artifacts, including the Tutankhamun collection.
Your guide returns you to your hotel by early evening. Travelers who'd rather add the older Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square instead of the pyramids can look at Gentoura's Grand Egyptian Museum and Egyptian Museum Day Tour.
