FAQs
1. General Questions
What is Gentoura?
Gentoura is a premium tour package marketplace designed to cut through the complexity of traditional travel booking. We combine predefined, high-quality tour itineraries with a conversational AI Assistant to help you find your next adventure quickly and effortlessly. We call this philosophy Amplified Directness.
What languages does Gentoura support?
Our platform is fully localized in English and Italian. You can switch language at any time using the selector in the site header, and every tour, destination and page is available in both.
2. Tour Packages & Customization
What are "Static Packages"?
All tours listed on Gentoura are predefined, fixed itineraries curated by our travel partners. They include set facilities, pricing structures, accommodations, and day-by-day itineraries.
Can I customize a package (change hotels, flights, or add extra days)?
In this version of the platform, packages are fixed, and dynamic customization (swapping components online) is not supported. However, when you submit a reservation request, you can use the Special Notes field in the booking drawer to mention any custom requirements, and our concierge team will review if they can accommodate your request offline.
What happens if a tour has missing details?
Our interface is built with strict UI resilience. If a tour package does not have prices, facilities, itineraries, or accommodations listed in our database, the corresponding tabs or sections collapse gracefully on the page without breaking the layout or crashing, allowing you to proceed with booking.
3. The AI Recommendation Assistant
How does the AI Assistant work?
The AI Assistant is a floating chat window accessible from any page. Instead of using complex filters, you can type what you are looking for in natural language (e.g., "I want a 4-day heritage tour starting in Cairo under $800"). The AI extracts your destination, budget, duration, and travel themes, matches them with our database, and recommends the best-fit package with a direct link to book it.
Is there a character limit in the chat?
Yes, the chat assistant accepts messages up to 1,000 characters in length.
What happens if the AI cannot find a match?
If the system cannot find a matching tour, or if there is a network issue, the AI Assistant will recommend using our standard category filters or show a curated list of our most popular tours.
4. Bookings & Payments
How do I book a tour package?
- Find a tour package you like (either by browsing or using the AI Assistant).
- Click the primary Book Now button on the Tour Details page.
- The Concierge Drawer will slide open on the screen.
- Enter your name, phone number, email address, preferred dates, passenger count, and any special notes.
- Click Confirm Reservation to submit your request.
Why doesn't the booking form ask for my credit card details?
To provide a secure and flexible booking experience, Gentoura does not collect or process payments online. Submitting a booking form sends an offline reservation request to our team. A Gentoura representative will contact you manually to verify your details, check availability, and arrange secure payment options.
What payment methods are supported?
Since payments are handled offline, our concierge team will coordinate with you to accept standard payment methods, including credit card links, bank transfers, or local regional payment solutions.
What should I do if my booking submission fails?
If a network disconnect occurs while submitting your request, the Concierge Drawer will display a notification banner. Your entered details will remain safe in the form so you can retry the submission without retyping everything.
5. Privacy & Data
Do I need to create an account to browse and book?
No. Gentoura runs on a guest-only model. You do not need to create an account, configure passwords, or manage a profile. We save your temporary choices and language selections using ephemeral cookies.
How is my chat data managed?
All chat transcripts are transient, stored locally in your browser's session state, and cleared when you close the session. Your chat inputs are processed securely using Next.js backend routes and are not stored permanently.
