Four coral reefs, one unforgettable day on the water
Tiran Island sits in the Strait of Tiran, where the Gulf of Aqaba narrows before opening into the Red Sea, a location that creates strong currents and exceptionally healthy, colorful coral reefs. Your day begins with pickup from your Sharm El Sheikh hotel and a transfer to the marina, followed by a scenic boat ride out to the island.
The boat anchors at two or three of the four main reef sites, each with a different character, from sloping coral gardens to dramatic drop-offs. You'll spend time snorkeling at each stop with the boat crew nearby, and it's common to spot large schools of reef fish, moray eels, and occasionally turtles or reef sharks in the deeper water.
Lunch is served on board, along with soft drinks and tea throughout the day. Because currents around Tiran can be stronger than in sheltered bays, this trip is best suited to snorkelers who are reasonably comfortable in open water; life jackets are available for anyone who wants extra support.
