Elphinstone Reef Snorkeling and Diving Trip in Marsa Alam

Elphinstone sits a short boat ride offshore from Marsa Alam, rising from deep water as a narrow reef plateau with near-vertical walls dropping away on both sides, a formation that consistently draws larger marine life close to the surface. It's considered one of the Red Sea's premier reef sites and is well known within the diving community, though its shallower plateau also offers excellent snorkeling.

Your boat will anchor near the reef's plateau, where snorkelers can explore the shallower coral gardens while divers on the same trip descend along the walls (diving requires separate certification and equipment, available on request as an add-on). Sightings of oceanic whitetip sharks, especially in the warmer months, along with schools of barracuda and other reef fish, are a regular feature of this site.

Lunch and refreshments are served on board, and the crew will brief all guests on the site's currents and safety guidelines before entering the water, as conditions here can be more exposed than at sheltered reefs closer to shore.
